The WY1BR is an extremely rare version of K Yairi WY1, originally designed by Bob Weir from the Grateful Dead, adopted by many fine artists including Ani di Franco and Joe Bonamassa. The super profile of the neck is adapted to rapid chord changes, and the smaller body is particularly comfortable. Slightly deeper than an OM, the short scale and Direct Coupled Bridge make this instrument responsive to say the least. The spruce top combined with Bolivian Rosewood back and sides gives really excellent projection, a deep sound that is surprising, with very precise definition in the attack of the notes. Gorgeous Gotoh tuners, and plenty of attention to detail, like the intricate herringbone binding make this a super attractive guitar for finger style players and strummers and in fact just about anybody who is serious about playing acoustic guitar on stage. Or at home. The bolivian rosewood is supremely eye-catching and tonally supreme while being extremely rare and sought after. Amplification is provided by LRBaggs underside, with volume and tone control in the sound hole.
