This is the original K Yairi WY1, designed by Bob Weir from the Grateful Dead, adopted by many fine artists including Ani di Franco. The super profile of the neck is adapted to rapid chord changes, and the smaller body is particularly comfortable. Slightly deeper than an OM, the short scale and Direct Coupled Bridge make this instrument responsive to say the least. The cedar top combined with indian rosewood back and sides gives really excellent projection and plenty of harmonics. Gorgeous Gotoh tuners, and plenty of attention to detail, like the intricate binding make this a super attractive guitar for blues pickers and strummers and just about anybody who is serious about playing acoustic guitar on stage.
